Implementation Of Children's Reading In Strengthening P5 Student Character Elementary School

Abstract

Reading children become a medium of learning especially Indonesian. Through reading children not only read but also think critically to understand reading. Research objectives describe the implementation of reading children to strengthen P5 students' character in school. Research This includes type qualitative descriptive. The subject is student school Fur base 03 Madiun with a total of 15 and one of the teachers is class 4. Place research in school Bulu 03 Madiun base. Data collection techniques are carried out using observation and documents. Observation data is in the form of activities students are learning, while documents are taken from results projects and product students. The procedure study starts with data collection, reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Analysis is done with planning, implementation, and evaluation. Research results show the implementation of reading children in strengthening P5 character done with 6-dimensional activities each dimension​​ produces among them dimensions First activity is praying, memorizing text prayer, helping friends, do the ceremony. While dimensions second do the task in a way independent, dimension third discussion, dimensions four analysis of culture area and its preservation. Dimensions fifth and sixth are the analysis of text and creating a portfolio. Learning outcomes in class show teachers are capable make P5-based teaching modules and implementing them in class with habituation tell a story before starting the lesson.
