Systematic Review Of The Solfeggio Method For Non-Music Students In Vocational Secondary Education

The solfeggio method is an important approach in formal music education for training aural skills, sight-singing, and music theory. However, its application in non-music Vocational High Schools (SMK) is still limited. This research aims to identify solfeggio learning innovations that can be adapted for non-music students in vocational high schools (SMK), as well as evaluate effective strategies and existing research gaps. The study was conducted using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach on 20 scientific articles published from 2020 to 2025, employing the PRISMA framework and thematic analysis. The results show that innovations such as the use of technology (MIDI, deep learning), a vocal-centric approach, and the integration of local culture are effectively applied to students without a musical background. Multimodal strategies combining vocal, movement, and visualization also enhance musical learning outcomes. However, there are still limitations in developing solfeggio learning models for non-music vocational school contexts in Indonesia. This study recommends the development of a contextual and applicative solfeggio learning model considering student characteristics and resource limitations.
