Abstract

This study aims to analyse the psychological well-being of psychology students of Nusa Cendana University who have a pet. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through direct interviews with nine participants who own dogs and cats, as well as through literature review of previous research. The results of the analysis showed that the participants' psychological well-being fulfilled almost all indicators of psychological well-being proposed by Ryff, including positive relationships with others, mastery of the environment, personal growth and self-acceptance. These findings indicate that university students who own pets experience improved psychological well-being.
