Abstract

This study explores homeschooling teachers' perspectives on alternative assessments to enhance students' confidence and maximize teachers' potential in English language subjects. Alternative assessments are identified as helpful for homeschooling teachers in conducting specific learning activities as homeschooling teachers need the type of assessment that can facilitate different approaches to assess students' diversity. This research investigates the views of Anggun Homeschooling International's teachers by conducting semi-structured interviews using the purposive sampling technique. The interview guide is used as a research instrument, and the interview questions are adapted from Nasri et al. (2010). By examining the perceptions of homeschooling teachers, this study aims to provide insights that homeschooling teachers agree that alternative assessments are best for homeschooling students with different learning styles and preferences, accommodate students' critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving, make the teaching and learning process more enjoyable, and prepare the students to have real-life skills to prepare them for a real-life situation
