Analysis of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Competencies of Primary School Teachers

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) competencies need to be mastered by teachers in organizing learning in the current technological era. However, based on data, there is still a technology gap both in terms of teachers and facilities and infrastructure. This research is focused on (1) knowing the general picture of elementary school teacher competence, (2) knowing the picture of teacher ICT competence based on four derivative levels of ICT competence, and (3) knowing the influencing factors in improving ICT competence. This research used a descriptive method with survey techniques involving 70 randomly selected elementary school teachers. The findings from this research illustrate that: (1) as many as 67% of teachers can integrate ICT into the learning process. (2) Analysis of the derived levels of ICT competency shows that the ICT Literacy level is an aspect that many teachers master, followed by the level of ICT implementation, ICT creation, and finally the level of ICT sharing and collaboration. (3) influencing factors in mastering ICT competencies: age, continuous training, facilities and infrastructure, and motivation.
