Abstract

Language is part of the culture. Language represents cultural and culturally related identities in the substance of language. This research describes the urgency of understanding Indonesian culture for international students studying at UPT Bahasa UNS. The methods used in this study are qualitative descriptive. The source of the data in this study was an informant. The data collection technique in this study is an in-depth interview with BIPA teachers and BIPA Students related to understanding Indonesian culture. Data analysis using interactive models. The results showed that efforts to understand Indonesian culture for international students at UPT UNS are to observe the habits of Indonesians and make friends with Indonesian people.
