THE INFLUENCE OF THE DISCOVERY LEARNING MODEL ON IMPROVING POETRY WRITING SKILLS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract

One of the skills in Indonesian subject is the skill of writing poetry. The learning model used by teachers is one of the determining factors for success in doing learning, including the ability to write poetry. The purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the influence of the use of discovery learning models on improving the ability to write poetry in elementary school students. This type of research is quantitative research of quasi experimental design models. Data collection uses test techniques and likert scale questionnaires. The results of this study show that the use of discovery learning models affects the ability to write poetry in students.    This is indicated by the value t result of learning to write poetry shows a number of 10,737 while the table t value at the significance level of 0.05 indicates a number of 2.021. So t count greater than t table, then the discovery learning model has an influence on the improvement of learning to write poetry.
